The syllabus of NTSE includes topics from the 9th and 10th class of CBSE and the state board. The exam is divided into two stages. Stage one and stage two. At both levels, the exam is divided into two- SAT & MAT. The stage one paper is conducted at the state level, the students who clear the Stage one exam will be allowed to appear for the stage two paper.
The stage two exam is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), it is a national level examination. The questions asked in the paper are multiple choices.
NTSE Syllabus 2021: Mental Ability Test (MAT)
The NTSE MAT syllabus comprises of verbal and non-verbal reasoning. The objective is to test the student’s ability to answer the problem-solving and reasoning skills related questions. 100 questions are asked in this section, every question carries 1 mark.

NTSE 2021 Syllabus for Scholastic Ability Test (SAT)
The NTSE SAT syllabus comprises Maths, Social Science, and Science subjects. The questions asked from this section are related to the different subjects the student studies in the day to day life and are a part of the school curriculum. In total, there are 100 questions allotted to this section. Every question carries 1 mark.
