Mainly there are three criteria that are considered important by the national testing agency, firstly the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 marks obtained in the qualifying exams, and third the date of birth. There is no maximum age limit for jee mains 2023 given by the NTA.

JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Admission in NITs and IITs

To get admitted in the top NITs’, IITs’ and GFTI’s the student should have cleared the qualifying exam with the below-given subjects -

  • B.TECH/B.E- the student should have physics and maths as the compulsory subjects and one technical vocational subject Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology.

  • B.Arch - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

  • B.Planning – the student must have cleared the qualifying subject with mathematics.

JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Droppers

  • The NTA has set no Age Limit

  • Only three consecutive attempts are given for clearing the JEE main paper. The student should have passed the class 12 exam in the year 2021 or 2022 (students appearing for the exam in 2023 can also seat for JEE mains)

  • It is mandatory for the student to have obtained a minimum qualifying score

  • The subject should have taken 5 subjects for the 12 class exam or the qualifying exam (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics compulsory).

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Admission in NITs and IITs

  • NITs/ IIITs/ Admission: the student should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 75% (in case of SC/ST candidate 65% marks) 

  • JEE Main 2023 B.Arch/B.Planning Admission: the candidate must have passed class 12 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. 

IIT JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023- State Eligibility

  • The state of eligibility is basically the state code from where the student has completed class 12th.

  • There is no relation between native place or the place of residence and the state code of eligibility.

  • In case the student has given the qualifying exam from a particular state but he/she is appearing for the improvement exam from some different state, then the state code from where the student originally passed the qualifying exam will be considered for eligibility.

  • In the case of NIOS, the student has to select the state code for eligibility in which the study centre is located.

  • If the student have passed the class 12 exam or equivalent from Nepal or Bhutan being an Indian citizen, then the state code for eligibility will be considered on the basis of permanent address in India as specified in the passport
